Leah and Corey seemed to be mending their fragile relationship and heading in a positive direction after the young father was awarded primary caretaker and primary legal custodian of their twins Ali and Aleeah. However, the parents took a step back during tonight's Teen Mom 2 episode: Leah was served papers from Corey's lawyer stating that West Virginia does not recognize joint custodians, and a court date was in their future to settle the matter. Understandably, both parties were visibly disappointed that they were facing yet another showdown.

"Leah and I have sat down at least one hundred times probably and tried to work this crap out, and it's never worked in six years and it never will work, probably," a drained Corey explained to his dad Jeff.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Leah felt optimistic that she would be able to fight this objection and emerge with a suitable settlement. But even so, the 23-year-old couldn't help but feel defeated after seemingly making healthy strides with the father of her children.

"I spoke to him after the hearing and everything went great," Leah somberly told her sister Victoria during a candid chat, seen in the video above. "We were actually kind of communicating, and [I] thought that we were going to co-parent the way we used to," she continued, before adding that she wanted this latest roadblock to be settled for her girls.
