Meghan Trainor Puts Her Ex On Blast On New Yo Gotti-Featuring Track ‘Better’
This tropical-sounding tell-off is for every queen who demands a king
The gist of Meghan Trainor’s new song is simple: After weathering a disappointing relationship, she’s come out the other side knowing what she deserves. And that is -- to put it delicately -- better.
On Friday, the Grammy-winning singer released “Better,” her unexpected collab with Memphis rapper Yo Gotti. Over a tropical beat, Meghan puts her ex on blast, repeating, “I deserve better, better than you/ Tell ‘em what they already know, I deserve better.” Yo Gotti swoops in with a pining verse of his own, telling Meghan she deserves a king (damn straight).
Following “NO,” “I Love Me,” and “Watch Me Do,” “Better” is the fourth track Trainor’s released from her upcoming sophomore album, Thank You, which arrives May 13.
