How Rihanna Is Helping A Gay Fan Come Out

'I'll be forever supporting you'

Rihanna is never too busy work-work-workin' to reach out to her fans. This year, besides dropping ANTI and launching a makeup line, she's also helping a longtime fan come out as gay to his family and friends. Yes, really.

The two started DMing on Twitter, and the fan, who chose to stay anonymous, shared screenshots of their heartfelt conversation with BuzzFeed.

"I just wanna live as the person I really am, not as a liar," he wrote.

"Baby it's okay to be scared but it's more important to be who you are!" Rihanna responded. "You are who you are, and as hard as it may seem, the best shit ever is freedom and peace within yourself! Your family may not understand, but luckily you live in a generation that does!!"

Their conversation has since spread all over the Internet, and people are tweeting their appreciation for Rihanna's kindness.

With her encouragement, the fan eventually came out to a close friend. Then Rih followed up with him, asking, "How did she [the friend] react?" (The friend was happy for him, by the way.)

And as he continues to come to terms with his sexuality, Rihanna's still standing by his side. He told BuzzFeed that he hopes to be fully out to the rest of his loved ones by July, when he'll be attending Rihanna's ANTI tour and meeting the megastar in person.

"Thank YOU for being honest!!" Rihanna messaged him in the final screenshot. "I'm so happy you're getting what you deserve! I'll be forever supporting you, you were here from day 1."
