Looking Back At Jennifer Lawrence's First Oscars Red Carpet Dress

You know the one.

It seems like Jennifer Lawrence has been walking the Oscars red carpet since the Oscars red carpet was invented. In reality, this year's awards will only be her fourth. Her fourth. And it was only five years ago that she stunned us (and the rest of the world) in that red, custom Calvin Klein dress.

Back in 2011, 20-year-old J-Law attended her first Academy Awards, where she was nominated for Best Actress for her role in Winter's Bone (she didn't win, but it's chill because she's won it two years later for Silver Linings Playbook). She was little-known then, but her simple-yet-gorgeous gown immediately put the young actress on everyone's radar.

While Jennifer may be all Dior all the time now (you would be too if you were getting paid $15 million), her first Oscars look paved the way to becoming a Hollywood fashion icon. The sleek silhouette, loose, blonde curls, and cherry red color that clashed with the carpet so boldly stood out against all the glitter and ruffles that dominated the event.

It's a sure thing that Jen will be rocking a Dior gown (presumably custom) at this year's show, and also make every best dressed list, but may we never forget that slinky red dress that first introduced us to the J-Law we know and love.
