It's been over five glorious years since five British lads were joined together on "The X Factor." Five glorious years. One Direction have taken over the world in that time -- touring nonstop, releasing five albums, touching millions of fans globally.

Yet, despite how famous they are, Liam Payne admitted on Thursday (Dec. 10) that he still gets confused for his bandmate Louis Tomlinson.

To many fans (including myself), that seems pretty outrageous, right? Liam's voice is round and low and he presents himself as a preppy grunge boy who loves a good hat but also knows how to rock a flannel. Louis has a sweeter, higher voice and has that messy-chic vibe going on, tousling his hair while wearing ripped skinny jeans and a plain white T.

But to some others, they're just two dudes with brown hair who sing in a band. Those people wouldn't be wrong, but they wouldn't be right either.

Liam's hilarious tweet is a refreshing break in his feed, straying from a time when he only posted about his insomniac tendencies and his showering activities. Way to step it up, Payno.

It also looks like he's taking on a little edge. Cursing?! Oh my. Perhaps he's taking a page from our boy Zayn Malik. Perhaps...
