If you can pull yourself away from ogling the beautiful bare chests featured in the new "Magic Mike" poster for a moment you might notice and/or appreciate the actors' smooth and hairless chests.

In a nutshell, the male actors took their roles seriously and subjected themselves to some hard core body waxing. We'll allow Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey to explain the sordid-yet-hilarious tale, as told during MTV News' Sneak Peek Week Q&A, leading up to this weekend's MTV Movie Awards.

"Did you get waxed?" Channing asked Matthew when they were posed a question about their body hair removal routine via Twitter.

"Yeah. The Russian got me," Matthew said with a smile. "She said 'sorry' after every time. She said 'sorry' 142 times."

"I got waxed too," Channing admitted. "I videotaped mine. On one of the talk shows that I do I'm going to come out and [show it]," he promised. "It is the most painful thing that I have ever done in my life. You guys have babies," he said, gesturing to the ladies in the crowd. "So you are used to pain, but I am not equipped to do that. I will never do it again. It's not... I don't know. It was the shins that hurt so bad!"

Poor baby. It wasn't all bad, particularly for Channing's wife, Jenna Dewan.

"She enjoyed the early part where I had to train up again and get back up [in shape] and work on my moves," he said. "She loves the movie. She was in edits all the time, she sat through all of them. She wasn't tired of seeing it, let's just say that."
