Jimmy Fallon, Meghan Trainor And Alanis Morissette's 'Ironic' Rendition Is Pretty Cluckin' Good

Were we into it? Cluck yeah!

Two decades after its release, you likely thought you'd heard every possible rendition of Alanis Morissette's "Ironic" you were going to hear. But nope. Just leave it to Jimmy Fallon to dream up a brand-new one.

On Tuesday's episode of "The Tonight Show," a creative little collective called the "Jagged Little Chicks" stopped by to perform the song in a way you've never heard it before -- with every melodic line clucked (yep, like a chicken would) instead of sung. Lucky for us, said group was actually made up of superstar cluckers Fallon, Meghan Trainor and Alanis herself.

There's something oddly fitting about the clucks here, like they're natural extensions of Alanis' sharp, idiosyncratic vocal delivery. Plus, you know, they're all dressed as chickens, so that's pretty entertaining. At one point, Jimmy's sheer earnestness cracks one of his fellow cluckers up, and my guess is it was Alanis. Because, I mean, how could it not be?

Meanwhile, Meghan seems to be recovered very nicely from her recent vocal cord problems which led to her canceling the remainder of her tour in August.

It's also cool to see Alanis having a lot of fun with this. But in all seriousness, who is the fourth clucker? He's given the very important duty of leading the song, which means they trusted him to deliver his clucks with poise and grace. That's an awful lot of responsibility. Who is this mystery clucker? We'd really like to know.

Anyway, keep on cluckin', you Jagged Little Chicks. The world needs you.
