Kim Kardashian Had No Idea Kanye West Was Going To Announce His Run For Presidency

'That wasn't a discussion in our household,' Kim said.

When Kanye West announced his run for presidency in 2020, there was one person he forgot to run it by: his wife.

Kim Kardashian West was just as surprised as everyone else when Kanye made the big announcement after accepting the Video Vanguard Award at the 2015 VMAs.

"That was news to me. No, that wasn't a discussion in our household," Kim revealed to Ellen DeGeneres before later adding, "I don't know if that was planned and I just didn't know about it, or if he had that idea right then and there."

And for those of you who still think Kanye is kidding, even though he said he was "definitely" running for office to Vanity Fair, Kim is here to assure us that her husband is "serious."

"I believe he is serious. I know that if he puts his mind to something he will do his best," she said. "It's been fascinating to hear all the conversations that have gone on since that announcement."

Kim is already thinking about what life would be like for her soon-to-be family of four in the White House, and she's all about it.

"I think it would be so much fun to be in the White House," she said. "I was joking with him and I was like, 'You're going to have to make it to a second term,' because he loves redecorating, and I'm like, 'You're going to want to redo the whole White House.'"

But for now, they are concentrating on their upcoming baby boy, reportedly due on Christmas Day, and are already kicking around a few baby names.

"I do like the name Easton. Easton West,” she admitted. "I don't think my husband likes that name, but I do like it. I don't think we'll go another direction. It's definitely not South. Every time someone says South, I just want to roll my eyes."
