Batman And Superman Faced Off In A Rap Battle…IRL

Daylyt tells us how it all went down.

If you go to a rap battle, you don't necessarily expect to see superheroes spitting rhymes, do you?

But that's precisely what happened in Connecticut on Sept. 12, when battlers Daylyt and E. Farrell faced off for iBattle League dressed as Batman and Superman. We spoke with Daylyt today about how it all went down.

"The 'Batman V Superman' movie is about to come out," Day told MTV News, referencing the upcoming "Dawn of Justice" film. "That Batman and Superman wave is about to pop off."

According to Day, the two actually battled normally first and then decided to do this as a bonus for fans. "We just did an extra back and forth where Superman beats Batman," the Watts rapper said. "I only let that happen because in the movie, Batman is gonna f—kin’ kill Superman. I wanted to even it out."

While some respect Day due to his lyrics, he's also become widely known for his antics. You might recall he dressed up as Spawn at Eminem's Total Slaughter rap battle event. He's also worn a Batman costume before. He's gotten naked. He's even tried to take "a boo boo" onstage. Why does he do these things?

"An antic is always a good thing whether you hate it or love it," Day said of his headline-grabbing performances. "There are plenty of people who rap their a— off all day but nobody knows or cares about them. I do what I do because I know it’s going to get attention."

"Michael Jackson’s entire career was full of shenanigans," he added. "Busta Rhymes is a wild antic rapper. Ludacris had all types of shenanigans in his videos. Eminem is the greatest antic rapper ever. I follow the leaders. Most of the leaders that got as big as they are had some types of shenanigans."
