Ben McKenzie Confirms That Batman Will Be On 'Gotham' — But With One Catch

Don't rev up the Batmobile just yet.

The second season of "Gotham" is gearing up to premiere this fall on FOX, and star Ben McKenzie (Jim Gordon) just dropped a bombshell on the whole fandom yesterday (August 23) at Wizard World Chicago.

McKenzie admitted that, yes, Batman will be seen on "Gotham," at some point. He said, "That's the plan," which kind of reminds me of the Joker's line from "The Dark Knight."

Coincidence? I THINK NOT.

This is both good and bad news. Good, because it's Batman. Duh. Bad, because once you actually see Bruce Wayne-as-Batman, that means the show is over.

McKenzie explained that since "Gotham" surrounds events leading up to Bruce Wayne becoming Batman, no one will actually get to see Wayne don the cape until "the last frame of the last shot of the last scene of the last episode of "Gotham," whatever season that may be."
