S.O.S., Brangelina stans: there appears to be trouble in paradise for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Well, on the big screen, that is.

The trailer for the married couple’s new film, “By the Sea,” was released Thursday (Aug. 6) — incidentally, the same day news broke that Pitt’s ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, has secretly wed Justin Theroux.

Angelina wrote, directed and produced the drama, which stars herself and Brad as an estranged wife and husband vacationing at an idyllic resort in 1970s France. But make no mistake; the beautiful scenery isn’t enough to sugarcoat the turmoil boiling underneath the surface for the couple in crisis, who smoke, drink, brood and self-medicate with reckless abandon. Oh, and then there’s the intense-looking physical altercations that’ll probably give you some “Fight Club” flashbacks.

So, yes, this is a far cry from Brad and Angie’s last on-screen tryst a decade ago, in the 2005 spy action blockbuster “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” Looks like we’ll have to make do without their sensual tangoing. Sigh.

“By the Sea” sails into theaters Nov. 13.
