Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Have A New Movie On The Way... And It Sounds Super Intense

The Jolie-directed 'By the Sea' finally has a release date.

Ten years after captivating us with their undeniable chemistry in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reuniting onscreen for their first movie since becoming a married couple.

“By the Sea,” a romantic drama written, produced, and directed by Jolie, is slated for release on November 13. This marks the 39-year-old’s third directorial project, after 2011’s “In the Land of Blood and Honey” and last year’s Unbroken.”

Set in France in the 1970s, “By the Sea” follows the troubled marriage between an American writer (Pitt) and his wife (Jolie) after they arrive in a quiet seaside town. As the couple spends time with new neighbors, they struggle with their own crumbling relationship and unresolved issues. Oh, and yes, this is the same film in which Jolie directed her husband in a sex scene — more on that here.

“This is a story about a relationship derailed by loss, the tenacity of love, and the path to recovery and acceptance,” Jolie said in a statement. “It has been a privilege to explore these universal human experiences with such a generous and talented cast and crew.”

Judging by the film’s synopsis, it sounds like quite an emotional roller coaster. Suffice to say, we’re not holding our breath for a sexy, boozed-up dance sequence à la “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” But with the couple’s combined talent and gripping intensity — and with a release date that’s oh-so-perfectly timed for Oscar season — it’s definitely one to keep on your radar.

In the meantime, let’s reminisce about the early days of Brangelina’s embodiment of #RelationshipGoals, shall we?
