A Cabbage Patch Doll Just Photobombed Charli XCX's Entire Fashion Shoot

And it still looks cool.

Here's the thing: Charli XCX isn't your typical pop star, and that's what makes her awesome. I mean, she's one of the few artists who talks about tampons and misogyny on the red carpet, and just when you think you've pegged her as the 2015 reincarnation of Cher-Horowitz-meets-the-Spice-Girls, she changes up her entire look. In a recent spread for Paper Mag, Charli channels a high-fashion '70s housewife with a serious obsession with her Cabbage Patch doll (or is the doll obsessed with Charli?) styled by her go-to girl Lisa Katnic.

In her first look, she exudes effortlessly cool vibes in a Nicopanda red ruffled coat, tousled hair and Jeremy Scott shoes and bag. Not so cool? That lil' dude creeping in the background. (WHY?)

In another shot, she chills in a patchwork Jeremy Scott frock with lime green Fogal tights complete with a photobomb by–you guessed it–that Cabbage Patch doll.

Here, she tries to tame the tiny beast in a Dolce & Gabbana dress and Jeremy Scott shoes, and honestly, we don't know how she's keeping her cool at this point.

After putting up a fight, she crashes on the lawn in a Jeremy Scott coat and bag paired with House of Holland trousers, which proves pattern-clashing is totally back.

In the piece, Charli tells the mag that she didn't find her style overnight–it took some time to get to know herself. "At the end of 2013 [there] was a moment when something clicked and I genuinely and truly stopped worrying what people thought of me. For the past couple of years I've been super done with trying to be someone I wasn't, and finding that peace leads to being able to do what you want with conviction. You're not trying to kid yourself along with everyone else."

Well, we think you're doin' a great job being yourself, girl. Just be sure to, um, watch your back in the meantime.
