Cody Simpson and Gigi Hadid have been an on-and-off couple before, but this time, it seems like they were brought back together unintentionally. Unless there was a sneaky matchmaker at their airline company, the two exes were seated together by chance.

Cody seemed to make light of the potentially ~awkward~ situation by snapping a pic of Gigi on her phone.

The two were both flying out of Canada, where they attended Sunday's Much Music Video Awards separately. After their flight to Los Angeles, the reportedly went their own ways.

The model and the singer officially split in May. Gigi is said to be dating Joe Jonas. “Cody and Gigi want each other to be in a place right now that allows him to only focus on his music, fans, and new message, while she can focus and continue building her career,” a statement from their rep had said. “They love each other dearly and have split up in hopes that growing on their own paths will bring them together in the future. They remain friends with no hard feelings and each other’s biggest supporters.”
