This R&B Icon Will Be Performing In Front Of The Statue Of Liberty

The epic event will stream through Tidal.

Who wouldn't want to see an icon perform at a major world landmark? That sounds like a phenomenal concert any way you cut it. And that's exactly what Mary J. Blige - the queen of hip-hop soul - is about to deliver.

On June 21, Blige will take the stage in front of The Statue of Liberty as part of an exclusive Tidal event. Those who are in New York can sign up for tickets through the music streaming company "to experience a once in a lifetime performance." Those who aren't in New York can still tune into Tidal, according to their site.

Mary J. Blige has a storied discography she can pluck songs from for this performance, including 1994's My Life. Her critically acclaimed and fan-adored catalog also includes her latest project, November's The London Sessions. Who knows what tracks The Queen will choose to deliver.

Tidal's concerts have proven to be compelling. Just last month, Jay Z wowed audiences with back-to-back "B-Sides" shows in New York where he performed some rare selections. Those shows, which only streamed through Jigga's service, delivered classic cuts, a call for peace and even a Roc La Familia reunion of sorts.
