Run The Jewels Powerfully Address Police Brutality With Animated 'Early' Video
Killer Mike and El-P have released another powerful visual for their Run The Jewels 2 project.
Just a day after announcing that the third installment in the RTJ series might not be released this year, the duo unleashed the video for "Early." Much like their last video, for "Close Your Eyes (And Count To F--k)," this Bug & Sluzzy-crafted clip addresses police-community relations.
"Early" is an animated clip that analyzes the story Killer Mike and El-P unveil with their rhymes, but it's also a representation of recent discussions around law enforcement. The artistic portrayal of protests in the video, for example, brings to mind the unrest we've seen in Baltimore following the death of Freddie Gray last month from injuries sustained while in police custody.
Here's a look at some of the powerful scenes in the video.
The Impact Of Arrests
The Fear That Strikes When A Gun's Drawn
The Desperation Of A Kid Seeing His Mother In Danger
The Prayers That Follow A Tragedy
And The Protests That Follow Too
