In the past year, you've probably stumbled upon a teenager or beauty fanatic trying to recreate Kylie Jenner's now-infamous lips. People have been experimenting with everything from lip liner to plumping contraptions to shot glasses to cop her perfect pout, but today Kylie finally opened about how she got her highly sought after look: with temporary lip fillers.

In a sneak peek for this Sunday's Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kylie admits that it's an insecurity she's always dealt with. "I have temporary lip fillers. It's just an insecurity of mine, and it's what I wanted to do. I'm just not ready to talk to reporters about my lips yet because everyone always picks us apart," she said. "I want to admit to the lips, but people are so quick to judge me on everything, so I might've tiptoed around the truth, but I didn't lie."

We're glad Kylie is being open and honest about her look now, but there's a palpable sadness to her confession. We can't imagine the pressure she feels being under public scrutiny at all times (on top of how excruciating being a teenager can be for everyone who has ever gone through puberty). In a perfect world, one free of the widely impressed-upon standards of conventional beauty, Kylie would've never felt the pressure to get her lips augmented in the first place. As the Kardashian family's most influential member and one of TIME's most influential teens, we hope Kylie's story will open up a much-needed discussion about body positivity—and letting her younger fans know they are beautiful just the way they are is a good start.
