These 5SOS Tour Openers Are Bringing The Circle Pits And Crowd-Surfing

With State Champs on the lineup, 5 Seconds Of Summer shows are about to get a little more hardcore.

5 Seconds Of Summer will kick off the Australian leg of their Rock Out with Your Socks Out Tour in June, and now we know who they're taking with them. State Champs -- known for their fun stage show, crowd-surfing fans and lively circle pits -- will be supporting the guys on the road.

A post on Live Nation confirmed the news about State Champs, a pop-punk band that formed in 2010.

If you caught State Champs' set at Warped Tour in 2014, or any of their shows with New Found Glory, you probably left with bruises, a hoarse throat and a smile on your face (because they rule so hard it makes you happy), which is way different from a 5SOS concert experience -- that usually includes high-pitched squealing and giddy, jumping young teen girls.

Calum, Michael, Luke, and Ashton have showed the band mad love via Twitter in the past, tweeting lyrics, video links and rocking merch. And 5SOS have been in the studio working with their faves like Joel and Benji Madden, Simple Plan and All Time Low, so it’s no surprise that they're bringing a band they love out on the road with them.

"We are fans of 5SOS. When they asked us to tour with them, we were thrilled," State Champs told MTV News in an email this week. "We've hung out with them a handful of times and they were fun to be around so when they were like, 'Hey, let's go to Australia together.' We were super down. We're really looking forward to playing our first arena shows as well. It's going to be such an interesting dynamic because we're used to playing clubs. 5SOS have a very dedicated fan base and its going be a blast playing for them. The thing we're looking forward to the most though is Bundaberg Ginger Beer."

While most State Champ fans are happy about the incredible, well-deserved exposure the band will get from the tour, some fans are concerned about them going mainstream and hope that these shows won’t change them.

Before they head Down Under, State Champs will finish up North American tour dates on the Future Hearts Tour with All Time Low, while 5SOS kicked off the tour earlier this week in Portugal.
