Most moms and dads would probably argue that there's no relationship quite like the one they share with their children, and this unique type of bond will be front and center on the next episode of MTV's groundbreaking docuseries "True Life." In the sneak peek below from the upcoming "Pushy Parents" installment -- airing this Monday at 11/10c following "Teen Mom OG" -- we're introduced to two overbearing mothers who are micromanaging their sons' lives. And they're wreaking a bit of havoc in the process.

But this is hardly the first time MTV has showcased a wide variety of folks interacting with their kiddos. Over the years, we've watched the incredible teen moms, the peeps on "Parental Control" and our gals "Snooki & JWOWW." Now, in preparation for this week's long-running program, we're taking a look back at eight other mamas and papas and how they made their mark on the network.

Lacey Hamilton from "Awkward"

One controversial "Carefrontation" letter aside, Nikki Deloach's extremely quirky character tries to keep her daughter's best interests at heart. Like when she urged blogger Jenna to follow in her boob-job footsteps so that the high school student could feel more confident.

Sheriff Stilinski from "Teen Wolf"

Stiles' caring dad gives his all to protect the commoners and supernaturals in Beacon Hills. But in one of his most memorable scenes with his son, the lovable law enforcement member can't keep up with Stiles' explanation -- via chess pieces -- of all of the werewolfs/druids/kanimas in the chaotic California town.

Helen and Jake Morgendorffer from "Daria"

The combat boot-loving, sarcastic teen's folks were notoriously uptight -- the cartoon dad had a big temper, while his partner was super-condescending without even realizing it. La la la la la.

Darlene Egelhoff from "The Hills"

Heidi Montag and her mom certainly didn't see eye-to-eye about Spencer Pratt -- but on the uncomfortable scale, nothing quite tops their candid conversation after the blond beauty's multiple elective surgeries.

Barbara Evans from "Teen Mom 2"

Jenelle's New England-bred mama has dropped a bunch of memorable lines -- sans the letter "R" -- but one that certainly sticks out is when she screeched the moniker of her daughter's former flame. All together now: KIEFFFAHHHHH!
