Find Out Why Emma Watson Is Calling Her ‘Beauty And The Beast’ Role ‘Terrifying’

No, it's not because of the two swoon-y hunks she's co-starring with.

When Emma Watson announced in January that she was going to be playing a Disney princess in the upcoming live-action reboot of “Beauty and the Beast,” we were all like “DUH.”

After all, Emma is basically already royalty in our minds (even if Prince Harry is out of the picture). As a mega-talented actress, inspirational U.N. Women Goodwill Ambassador, and badass feminist, she basically oozes grace and class out of every pore.

But for all of her accomplishments and amazing qualities, even Emma admits to feeling nervous sometimes.

In a new interview for Total Film Magazine (via The Telegraph), the 24-year-old admitted that her upcoming “Beauty and the Beast” role is proving to be a “terrifying” challenge for her.

“I sing, so that’s really unexpected,” she said. “I’ve never had to do that for a film before, and I think people will be interested to see me do something very different like that…It gives me a different challenge, really. That’s terrifying in and of itself!”

Luckily, she’s in the company of some equally talented actors who will no doubt give her the encouragement she needs, including Luke Evans, who will play the bawdy villain Gaston, as well as former “Downton Abbey” hunk Dan Stevens, who’s the cursed Beast To Emma’s Belle.

Besides, Emma has technically already proved that she CAN sing on camera — remember this soft lullaby in last year’s “Noah?”

Plus, she proved on “The Tonight Show” and in “Perks of Being a Wallflower” that she can definitely bust a move.

And don’t worry — stage fright aside, Emma’s still the confident go-getter we all love and admire. In the same interview, she also spoke about her bright future ahead, saying, “Now I feel like I’m ready to really be carrying films. I’m really just ready now to focus on my career and go full steam ahead. It’s exciting at the moment.”
