Ariana Grande Joins Miley Cyrus' Fight Against Homelessness

Ari is a Happy Hippie now.

Miley Cyrus has been rallying to fight homelessness since the 2014 VMAs, when she brought formerly homeless youth Jesse Helt as her date. Now, it seems, she's pulling together all manner of famous friends to join her Happy Hippie Foundation, whose goal is to "[rally] young people to fight injustice, starting with youth homelessness."

This week, the likes of Ariana Grande, Against Me's Laura Jane Grace and Cody Simpson began tweeting and Instagramming in support of Miley's foundation, which she announced in September 2014, according to the Facebook page.

"thaaannk u @mileycyrus @happyhippiefdn for having me be a part of somethinnnnn so beautiful. here's to raising awareness and stopping as much judgment, labeling, and unkindness as we cannnnn!!! u are beautifulll @mileycyrus," Grande wrote on Instagram, sharing the below snap.

Grace, in turn, shared a photo of Miley and her having what appears to be a backyard jam session, while Cody Simpson announced he would be donating all proceeds from merch related to his new song "Flower" -- for which Cyrus designed the cover art -- to Happy Hippie.

The "Wrecking Ball" singer jumped into the activist lifestyle this past summer when Jesse Helt, her homeless date, accepted her award for Video of the Year.

“My name is Jesse and I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now," Helt said on stage at the awards show. "I know this because I am one of these people.”

At the time, Cyrus was raising awareness for My Friend's Place, the organization where she met Helt, but it seems that now the musician has decided to strike out on her own with Happy Hippie. (Incidentally, her art collection is called "Dirty Hippie," so it seems that brand is here to stay.)

We're not sure just yet exactly how Happy Hippie plans to fight homelessness -- aside from donating proceeds from various projects to charities -- but Cyrus certainly has turned some heavy-hitters to the cause, so we'll keep an eye on that space.
