Gather 'round, friends, and listen to this awe-inspiring tale of the time when America’s Sweetheart and Resident Cool Girl Jennifer Lawrence and Queen of the Tabloids and Our Hearts Kim Kardashian met face-to-contoured-face.

To grasp the significance of this meeting, you need to understand that Jennifer is a self-professed reality TV connoisseur. She’s told us about her “Real Housewives” addiction and owned up to her passion for “The Hills.”

In fact, Jen even admitted to Marie Claire South Africa that enjoys hibernating in her “reality TV show cave” and binge-watching reality shows like there’s no tomorrow.

“After it’s 11, I’m like, ‘Don’t these kids ever get tired?’ When I’m out, I think about my couch. Like, ‘It would be awesome to be on it right now. I bet there’s an episode of ‘Dance Moms’ on. Am I missing a new episode of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians?’” she said. “I’m just stressed by the idea of missing them. Reality TV is my silver lining. At the end of the day there’s probably nothing that makes me feel better than junk food and reality TV.”

But back to the matter at hand — Jen and Kim’s respective worlds finally intersected one glorious day in New York, and, by Kim’s account, it went down exactly as you’d expect.

“I was in N.Y.C. and I ran into Jennifer Lawrence,” Kim told British newspaper The Sun at a recent press junket in Los Angeles. “We said ‘Hi’ and walked into the elevator and as the doors were closing, she screamed across the lobby, ‘I love your show!’ We were laughing so hard.”

The fact that there were evidently no cameras around to capture this fateful rendezvous of royalty is frankly soul-crushing and one of history’s lowest points to date.

But in any case, imagining the scene play out in your head is just as sweet and gives us hope that Jen and Kim will become besties and take over the world together. After all, Kim may say she played it totally cool, but we know she was just as psyched as Jen on the inside.
