Selena Gomez's New Movie Role With Paul Rudd Will Give Us Major 'Tude

Gomez will star in the movie adaptation of 'The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving.'

Selena Gomez has her new project ready to go. The "Heart Wants What It Wants" singer will star in "The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving" alongside Paul Rudd.

The movie, adapted from Jonathan Evison's 2013 novel and directed by Rob Burnett, a veteran exec producer of "The Late Show With David Letterman," follows the story of a caregiver looking after a teen named Trevor, who is in advanced stages of muscular dystrophy. Deadline reports that Selena will play the "sassy" role of Dot, who turns out to be Trevor's love interest because she isn't bothered by his illness when she catches a ride with them on a roadtrip.

Well, that certainly explains why Gomez was hanging out with Rudd at the Golden Globes parties! After the awards show, the singer posted a photo with Rudd and Justin Theroux.

Selena's movie credits include "Rudderless," "Spring Breakers" and "Hotel Transylvania." She'll be recording the voice of Mavis for "Hotel Transylvania 2" this year. As for Rudd, he's gearing up for the release of Marvel's "Ant-Man," out in July.
