It Turns Out DMX Has Nothing To Do With Next Week's New DMX Album

Swizz Beatz sounds off, and X co-signs.

It was a little surprising when news hit yesterday that a new DMX album, Redemption of the Beast, would drop next Tuesday. It turns out that was for a reason.

"I see a lot of people hitting me about this album!!!" X's frequent collaborator, Swizz Beatz, wrote on Instagram. "I can tell you 100% this is not the album X and I are working on!!!! (I feel like Timbo with the Aaliyah movie rite now) SMH !!!!!! #DontdisrespecttheDog We Got Fire coming."

X then took a screenshot of the producer's comment and uploaded it to his own account.

"When the DOG come back you will know 100% !!!!!! Stop the B.S fake albums!!!!!!!! Fyi We Cooking Fire," Swizz added, with another pic. "I see a lot of rapper but I know only 1 X!!!!!!! #nofakealbums We Got Fire #brothers4Life !!!!!!!!!! @DMX."

That follows up what he told MTV News about their work back on an episode of "RapFix Live" in 2013.

“Everything is DMX for me right now,” he said. “It’s my main focus because it’s what started everything. So, if I don’t focus on that, then it’s just not right.”
