Pete Davidson From 'Guy Code' Is Joining 'Saturday Night Live' Cast

The 20-year-old comic has been officially announced as the show's new featured player.

Big news for one of MTV's own today! Pete Davidson is joining the cast of "Saturday Night Live."

Deadline reports that the legendary NBC sketch comedy show has tapped Davidson to join the show’s 40th season as the only new featured player. This is a huge move for the 20-year-old New York native, who has been a regular on "Guy Code" and "Wild ’N Out."

In the past couple years, Davidson has been moving up in the ranks of the comedy world, impressing audiences and generating a ton of buzz with his fresh stand-up sets. In the past year, he guest-starred on FOX’s "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," appeared on "Adam Devine’s House Party" and performed on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

A number of Davidson's cast mates have taken to Twitter today to congratulate Davidson on the awesome "SNL" news:

Whether he's reporting live from Comic Con or teaching us how to properly sext, Davidson always has the answers, and we’re psyched to see him doing big things. Doing our happy dance for you, Pete!
