Gabriella Montez is ready to ditch high school musicals for good -- and by that, we mean that Vanessa Hudgens is headed to Broadway!

AP reports that Hudgens, who has already impressed audiences worldwide with her singing, dancing, and festival attire, will soon take on the titular role in the musical "Gigi" -- a role that was one performed on the Great White Way in play form by Audrey Hepburn.

"I think, as an actor, the ultimate dream is to be on Broadway," Hudgens said. "I think it's the true test. There are no second takes. You've got to bring everything you've got for the most critical of audiences. It's an honor, if anything. I'm over the moon."

The show -- which was written by the same composer and lyricist as "My Fair Lady" -- takes place during turn-of-last-century Paris, where Gigi is being groomed as a high-society courtesan for a playboy named Gaston. Here's some exclusive footage we found from rehearsals:

Jokes, jokes. But all kidding aside, Hudgens -- who once played Mimi in "Rent" at the Hollywood Bowl -- is already in rehearsal, and the show will debut in Washington, D.C. early next year. The New York dates and remainder of the cast is yet to be announced, but needless to say: watch your back, Emma Stone!
