It’s Official: Emma Stone Is Coming To Broadway

Life is a cabaret old chum, only a cabaret old chum, and Emma Stone loves a Cabaret.

Willkommen, Emma Stone!

After weeks of speculation, the Roundabout Theater Company announced on Wednesday (August 20) that Stone will indeed take over for Michelle Williams in Broadway’s current run of “Cabaret,” starting November 11. Stone will star alongside Alan Cumming, who won a Tony Award for the role of the emcee back in 1998.

Stone will play the female lead, a flighty British singer named Sally Bowles, in the smash hit musical. It’s a role she was reportedly interested in when it opened earlier this summer, but she was unavailable to sign on due to “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”

The limited-run revival has been extended through March 29, 2015, but Stone will take her final bow (or say auf Wiedersehen, since it all takes place in a 1930′s Berlin nightclub) on Feb. 1. Which is great and all, but now I’m a little bit annoyed that I already purchased tickets for tomorrow night.

A real go-getter.
