Dave Grohl may currently be promoting his "Sound City" documentary by grinding out [article id="1700516"]Rock n' Roll Fantasy Camp-caliber concerts[/article] with legends like Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty and Rick Nielsen ... but, don't worry, Foo fans; that doesn't mean he's forgotten about his day job.

Though the Foo Fighters are [article id="1694754"]currently be taking a break,[/article] that didn't stop members of the band from jamming with Grohl and Co. at the Sundance Film Festival, and, as he told MTV News during the fest, he and his mates are already cooking up ideas for the follow-up to 2011's [article id="1661759"]Wasting Light[/article] album. And once the promo cycle for "Sound City" dies down, they'll get to work on the new disc.

"It's funny, we don't really consider this the Foo Fighters ... we're Rick Springfield's backing band, we're john Fogerty's backing band. We're not up there playing 'Everlong' every night, we're just hoping our heroes get up on stage and play," Grohl said. "But we have a plan, we know exactly what's coming next, and I have the music for the next record and we're going to start working on it once we finish doing all this stuff.

"And we have really awesome, big plans for the next album," Grohl continued, "and I'm really excited about it."

Of course, Grohl wouldn't elaborate on those "big plans" -- [article id="1679341"]at last year's Grammys[/article], he joked the Foos would one-up Light's made-in-the-garage, straight-to-tape ethos by making to "an album in space" -- but rest assured, the album is coming ... just don't ask when.

"If I give you something now [about a release date], " Grohl laughed, "it means I'll actually have to make that deadline."
