Fun.'s Nate Ruess Admits It's 'Hard To Argue' With Pink

Ruess catches up with MTV News at Sundance to talk about the 'unbelievable' video for 'Just Give Me a Reason.'

When Pink released the first two singles off her album, we didn't expect anything less than an explosion of lyrical wit, brutal honesty and pure fun. "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" is certified platinum, while "Try," won praise for its raw, emotional content and its accompanying music video, where the pop singer artfully choreographs all the song's passion and pain.

So it was with much anticipation that announced that "Just Give Me A Reason" would be her third single off her platinum-selling album.

At the Sundance Film Festival, MTV News caught up with Nate Ruess (where he was promoting Brita's FilterForGood effort), who is featured on and co-wrote the track, to get more details on the anticipated video.

"I just saw a rough cut of it and it was unbelievable. I sh-- you not," Ruess said. "I went into it just obviously coming from a completely different world than where Pink is from," the rock singer explained about working with the pop superstar.

"Writing the song was a whole different learning experience and was really fueled by the fact that Alecia is so strong and independent and so very much herself," he said. "At the end of the day it's so hard to argue against her because what she does it always so great."

And while the singer didn't say too much about the look or the feel of the video, he did end up revealing one key detail: "I ended up being very pleased with the double-breasted coat that I wore."
