Kailyn shared a personal and painful secret during tonight's Teen Mom 2 installment: She had suffered a miscarriage and needed to spend several days in the hospital. Initially, and understandably, the young mother resisted talking about the ordeal on-camera.

While the medical emergency was difficult to disclose -- she told her story during a candid conversation with her best friend Sterling -- the Delaware resident recently opened up to MTV News about the miscarriage and offered advice to other mothers who may find themselves in a similar situation.

"Everyone grieves differently; everyone grieves for different periods of time," the MTV cast member explains in the video above. "Just take the time to grieve and do what you need to do to make yourself healthy again and be ready to take the next step in moving forward."
