Tim McGraw, Faith Hill Team For Rare TV Duet

ACM Awards show marks married duo's first broadcast performance together in three years.

Married hitmakers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill take the stage Wednesday at the Academy of Country Music Awards for their first televised performance together in three years.

The last time McGraw and Hill appeared together on TV was in April 1997, when they sang the #1 duet "It's Your Love" on the ACM Awards show. For this year's ACM bash, the couple will unveil the video for their latest collaboration, "Let's Make Love," with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage that will only be shown during the awards program. Director Lili Zanuck, who won an Academy Award for producing the feature film "Driving Miss Daisy" and directed Hill's "Breathe" video, shot the video on location in Paris.

Hill and McGraw are nominated for five ACM awards each and are competing for entertainer of the year. Hill is up for best female vocalist, and her hit "Breathe," co-written by Holly Lamar and Stephanie Bentley, is nominated in the song and video categories. Her husband is being acknowledged for his album Place in the Sun and for the hit cut "Please Remember Me," co-penned by Rodney Crowell and Will Jennings. The latter is nominated for single and song of the year.

McGraw also will perform his current single, "Some Things Never Change," and plans to join Reba McEntire in a tribute to the late Gene Weed, a past Academy president and chairman of the board. Weed was the ACM awards show's director and producer for more than 30 years. McEntire will host the tribute as McGraw sings "Please Remember Me" in Weed's honor.

In addition, the Academy board has voted to rename its achievement award after Weed. Only three individuals have received this award for unprecedented achievement: George Burns, for charting with his first country hit in his '80s; Jeff Foxworthy, for releasing the best-selling country comedy album; and Garth Brooks, for the success of his live Central Park concert.
