Three Tenors Present Las Vegas Concert On Web

Concert part of superstar trio's current U.S. tour.

The Three TenorsJose Carreras, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti — took their operatic act to the Internet on Sunday.

The illustrious trio webcast their concert from the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas. The event's producer, Tibor Rudas, offered the free worldwide webcast on his site, www.superstartheater.com.

The webcast was presented live at 1 a.m. EDT and then replayed at 12 a.m. and 6 p.m. EDT.

The Three Tenors have been a major act since their 1994 concert in Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium. Accompanied by conductor Zubin Mehta, they performed before almost 1.3 billion television viewers in 100 countries while simultaneously recording both an audio and video release, the recording going platinum in its first week.

Since then the trio was been seen with conductor James Levine in major cultural capitals of the world. They've performed at three World Cup events. And their 1998 concert in Paris received coverage on the Web, radio and PBS.

The Three Tenors' remaining dates on their U.S. concert tour are in Washington, D.C. (May 7), Cleveland (June 25) and Albany, N.Y. (July 22).
