Beach's Concerto Celebrated In Its Centennial Year

This is the centennial year for the Piano Concerto in C-sharp minor of Amy Beach (1867–1944), who is now regaining the fame she had during her lifetime. The CD, which also has her Quintet in F-sharp minor, is the fourth in a series by pianist Joanne Polk that cover all of Beach's piano music. These pieces remind me of Brahms, though a shade lighter (which is good), more lyrical and equally enjoyable.
