Phife Dawg Set For North American Club Tour

Invisible Scratch Piklz will be the opening act.

Rapper Phife Dawg,

formerly of A Tribe Called

Quest, will tour clubs across North America in July,

according to Lan Phan, one of the tour's booking agents.

Shortkut of the DJ

posse Invisible Scratch

Piklz will serve as the tour's opening act. The dates for

the outing have yet to be confirmed, Phan said.

A Tribe Called Quest, which also included

COLOR="#003163">Ali Shaheed Mohammed and

Q-Tip, was one of the

most respected groups of the early '90s. Phife Dawg's intense, higher

voice countered Q-Tip's ultra-smooth, relaxed voice. He was

featured prominently on the song "Check the Rhime" (

known cuts on 1991's The Low End Theory, regarded as a

hip-hop classic.

While Q-Tip released his solo debut album, Amplified, in

November, Phife Dawg has yet to release any solo material in the

U.S. He released the single "Bend Over" in Germany last summer.
