Diana Krall, Yo La Tengo, Looper, Aphrodite ...
Jazz singer/songwriter and pianist Diana Krall is touring the States for the next few months, basking in the glow of her Grammy win. Her fifth album, When I Look in Your Eyes (1998), won last week for Best Jazz Vocal Performance. Catch her on May 6, as part of the seven-day Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans.

Indie-rockers Yo La Tengo added some April dates to their U.S. tour before they head off to Europe. They released Saturday, a limited-edition, 10-inch vinyl EP, on Jan. 31 and their first full-length album in three years, And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out, on Feb. 22.

Stuart David, former bassist for Scottish indie darlings Belle and Sebastian, will be traveling the States in March with his wife and Looper partner, Karn David, playing the duo's critically acclaimed story-songs. Looper's debut album, Up a Tree, was released in March 1999. Oh yeah, and they'll be opening for the Flaming Lips.

Jump up drum & bass/jungle king Gavin King, a.k.a. Aphrodite, is bringing his hip-hop, jazz, techno and bubbly, bass-heavy funk to the U.S. for a monthlong club tour. The DJ/producer's most recent album, Aphrodite, was released in October.
