Grant Lee Buffalo frontman Grant-Lee Phillips will begin a monthlong solo tour March 9, in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. Phillips, who has been playing weekly gigs at Largo in Los Angeles, will showcase acoustic material from his first individual effort, Ladies' Love Oracle, a spokesperson for the singer said. The album — Phillips' first release since Grant Lee Buffalo's Jubilee (1997) — is available only at the shows and through Phillips' Web site, www.grantleephillips.com. Grant Lee Buffalo received critical acclaim in the early 1990s, while opening for R.E.M., the Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam.
