Belle And Sebastian Bassist Cuts Hours

Stuart David to concentrate on writing and his other band, Looper.

Bassist Stuart David is cutting back his time with chamber-pop group Belle and Sebastian to concentrate on his fiction and on the electronic-music band Looper, according to Belle and Sebastian's British label, Jeepster. Though David will no longer be a full-time member of Belle and Sebastian, he will appear with the band on an upcoming edition of the John Peel BBC radio program, as well as on the group's fourth album, due in June. Meanwhile, Looper will release their second album, the 10-song Geometrid, in May. Belle and Sebastian have earned a devoted UK following and critical acclaim with three albums of delicate-mannered pop.
