Song Plugger Juggy Gayles Dies

Promoter of Frank Sinatra, Nat 'King' Cole tunes was 86.

Juggy Gayles, who plugged songs for Nat "King" Cole and Frank Sinatra, died in his sleep Monday (Jan. 17) at a nursing home in New Hyde Park, N.Y., the New York Times reported. He was 86. Gayles helped turn songs into hits by working as a music publisher, a radio promoter and a partner in a hip-hop records label, Sleeping Bag Records. Among the songs he plugged was Irving Berlin's "White Christmas," now the #2 best-selling single of all time.
