Muffs Drummer Quits Band
Roy McDonald will play a few more shows with the group.
Punk-popsters the Muffs are looking for a new drummer after Roy
McDonald quit the group Monday (Jan. 10), according to singer/guitarist
Kim Shattuck. McDonald, who said he is leaving because of financial
reasons, will play a few more as-yet-unconfirmed shows with the Los Angeles band
before his departure. "He's been my favorite drummer forever — it's
definitely sad for a lot of reasons," Shattuck said. "It's a tall order to ask
for someone as good as Roy, with all that energy." Drummers interested in
auditioning should send tapes to: C/O The Muffs, P.O. Box 291957, Los Angeles,
CA 90029. Shattuck has been working on new material for the follow-up to
Alert Today Alive Tomorrow, released last year.
