Gary Glitter Reportedly To Be Released

Glam-rocker has served two months of four-month sentence for child pornography.

Glam-rocker Gary Glitter will be released from a Bristol, England, prison on Tuesday (Jan. 11), after serving two months of a four-month sentence for child pornography, according to Reuters. Because Glitter reportedly has received at least one death threat while in prison, officials will take extra steps to protect him during the release, the news service reported. Instead of leaving through a main entrance, as most prisoners do, Glitter will be quietly released from another location. Glitter, best known for the hit "Rock and Roll (Part 2)," pleaded guilty in November to taking and possessing 54 pornographic photos of children. As a result, "Rock and Roll (Part 2)," a popular sports anthem, was banned from some U.S. sports arenas.
