Goo Goo Dolls' Plane Skids

Band was wrapping up holiday tour of military bases when U.S. Navy plane slid in rain in Italy.

A Navy plane carrying the Goo Goo Dolls, during their holiday tour of U.S. military bases, skidded off a rain-soaked runway in Sicily, Italy, Sunday night (Dec. 19), according to a band publicist. No one was hurt in the incident. The pop-rock band's U.S. military tour in Europe ended with a show Sunday in Bosnia-Herzegovina. "Our sailors and their families greatly appreciated the band taking the time to play for us, and we want to see them get home safely," Navy spokesperrson Cappy Surette said in a statement issued by the group. The Goo Goo Dolls will next play New York's Times Square on New Year's Eve, as part of MTV's "MTV 2 Large" broadcast. (SonicNet is a division of MTV Interactive.)
