Former Guided by Voices guitarist Tobin Sprout is slated

to release a limited-edition (1,000 copies), two-LP vinyl set of demos

titled Demos & Outtakes before year's end, according to a spokesperson

for the singer. The 31-track effort will offer rough previews of songs

slated for the debut album from Sprout's new band, eyesinweasel.

A single-CD version of the demo set with fewer tracks is scheduled for

an early-2000 release. A two-song debut single from eyesinweasel —

which features bassist Dan Toohey, another GBV alumnus — is

slated for release in January. The single will feature the songs "Seven

and Nine" and "Daughters of the Moon (the Jim Eno Version)"; a full-length

album from the band is expected later in the year.
