Rock singer/songwriter Chan Marshall, better known as Cat Power,

plans to begin recording an album of cover songs next month, she said

Friday (Sept. 24). Among the artists whose songs she'll tackle are

Bob Dylan and '60s rock band Moby Grape. Cat Power's most

recent album was Moon Pix (1998).
