Former Lemonheads singer Evan Dando is working on a new

album in Australia, according to his management. The still-untitled

effort, Dando's first since the Lemonheads' Car Button Cloth (1996), is being

recorded for Modular Recordings, home to such Australian artists as

singer/songwriter Ben Lee and rockers The Living End. No

U.S. label has yet announced it will release the album, which is expected

in the first half of 2000.
