Soul-influenced rock veteran Van Morrison became the first musician inducted into the Irish Music Hall of Fame in a ceremony Wednesday (Sept. 1) in Dublin, Ireland. Former Boomtown Rats singer Bob Geldof inducted Morrison in front of an audience that included U2's Bono and the Edge, according to a statement from the hall. Morrison also performed five songs for the crowd, according to the statement. The Dublin museum includes displays on Irish musicians, including Sinéad O'Connor, Shane MacGowan, the Cranberries and others.
