Reggae Fans Honor Dennis Brown

Thousands honored the memory of the late Dennis Brown by dancing to reggae music throughout his three-hour funeral service in Kingston, Jamaica, on Saturday, according to the Associated Press. The ceremony included speeches from Prime Minister P.J. Patterson and opposition leader Edward Seaga as well as performances by Brown's five sons and reggae stars Maxi Priest and Shaggy. The service was followed by a procession that drew many more supporters out of their homes to bid farewell to "the Crown Prince of Reggae." Brown, who suffered from pneumonia for years before dying July 1 at age 42, was buried at Kingston's National Heroes Park.
