George Jones' Damaged Car Displayed

The sport-utility vehicle that country singer George Jones smashed into a bridge in March -- in a single-car crash that almost took his life -- was hung from a crane at the junction of three interstate highways in Nashville on Thursday as a reminder to motorists not to drink and drive. Jones pleaded guilty to driving while impaired and has recorded a public-service announcement against driving while intoxicated. A local physician bought the wrecked 1999 Lexus for $22,000 and collaborated with local country-music radio station WKDF to display the auto.
