Beta Band: The eclectic Scottish quartet -- imagine a combination
of folk, pop, Celtic, reggae, electronica and chamber music -- is
playing a few dates in the States in support of its highly anticipated
self-titled full-length debut (June 22). Beta Band's live multimedia
extravaganzas have become legendary in Europe.

Hovercraft: The experimental instrumental trio are playing a few
West Coast dates this month behind their second release, Experiment
Below (1998), with Japanese noise-rockers the Boredoms. Hovercraft's
performances are known as much for their psychedelic video montages as
for the music; if you're lucky, Eddie Vedder might sit in on drums again.

David Garza: Continuing his perpetual touring, the eclectic rock singer/songwriter is
promoting, among other things, his major-label debut, This Euphoria (1998). This
month he concentrates on the western states with Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament's side project,
Three Fish.

Chaka Khan: The funk/soul diva is touring the States this summer behind her latest
album, 1998's Come 2 My House, which features collaborations with Queen Latifah
and The Artist Formerly Known As Prince. She'll be playing on the Honey Nut Cheerios
Sisters Soulfest with fellow soul chanteuse Patti LaBelle through August.
