Bad Religion To Award Research Grant
Punk-poppers Bad Religion will award the second annual grant from
their Bad Religion Research Fund later this month. The fund gives
scholarships of at least $3,000 to high-school or college students for
field studies. Singer Greg Graffin, who earned a degree in
evolutionary biology from U.C.L.A. and is working toward a Ph.D. at
Cornell University, reviewed applicants' proposals, and the band as a
whole will make a decision by Tuesday (June 15). "Greg explains the
stuff that we don't understand because we're not scientists," guitarist
Greg Hetson said. The winner will receive the grant by June 25,
according to the band's official website (www.badreligion.com).
