The five members of Genesis' early-'70s lineup are working on a

new version of "Carpet Crawlers," a song from their 1974 album The

Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, according to a spokesperson for Atlantic

Records. Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford,

Tony Banks and Steve Hackett are working with producer and

onetime Yes member Trevor Horn. The spokesperson could not

say whether the new version of "Carpet Crawlers," which is intended for

a greatest-hits package scheduled for release late this year, would be a

new recording or a remix. Gabriel left the band for a solo career in

1975, Hackett left a couple of years later and Collins departed in 1995.
